Wade beats Bryant for another Skills Challenge win
LAS VEGAS (AP) -Dwyane Wade successfully defended his title in the Skills Challenge at All-Star Saturday, running the course flawlessly in 26.4 seconds to beat Kobe Bryant.
Wade and Bryant eliminated LeBron James and Chris Paul in the first round. Wade, the 2006 NBA finals MVP, then was perfect in the final round - and Bryant was doomed when he needed five tries to make a simple chest pass through a hoop.
In the Skills Challenge, the stars must navigate an obstacle course with agility drills, passing accuracy tests and a 3-pointer. Steve Nash set the course record in 25.8 seconds in 2005, and Wade won the event last season in Houston.
