All-Star guard Kobe Bryant was named to the 2005-06 All-NBA First Team. Bryant led the NBA this past season in scoring with 35.4 points per game, while posting totals of 5.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists. The honor is Bryants fourth All-NBA First Team selection.
Along with Bryant, Phoenix Suns guard Steve Nash, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James, Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki and Miami Heat center Shaquille ONeal round of the All-NBA First Team.
Bryant received 110 first team votes, second only to LeBron James (116) among vote getters.
Bryant totaled 2,832 points this season, marking the seventh highest scoring season in NBA history behind only Michael Jordan (1986-88) and Wilt Chamberlain (1960-64). Bryant recorded six 50-point games this season, including the second-highest scoring game in NBA history when he tallied 81 points on Jan. 22 (Chamberlain, 100, 1961-62).
