Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers will provide the opposition when the Warriors open their 2006-07 season Nov. 1 at Oakland Arena.
The schedule, released Tuesday by the NBA, includes three nationally televised games -- two on TNT and one on ESPN.
The Warriors, seeking to end a league-worst 12-year playoff drought, play 16 of their first 23 games at home. Among them are a Nov. 14 date with the Toronto Raptors, featuring Andrea Bargnani, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2006 draft, and the lone Bay Area visit by Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady and the Houston Rockets on Dec. 14.
Shaquille O'Neal, Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat make their only appearance Jan. 12, followed by LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers on Jan. 20. Other one-time-only visits: Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers on Dec. 26; the Boston Celtics on Dec. 29; and Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and the New Jersey Nets on Jan. 24. Nationally, Kobe and Shaq spend Christmas together again, with the Lakers visiting the Heat on Dec. 25. The season opens Oct. 31 with the Chicago Bulls debuting big man Ben Wallace in Miami and the Phoenix Suns visiting the Lakers.
